Home sharing in a hotel?

Am on vacation, with my wife. Listened to one of my playlists in the car getting here, and I shared the playlist with her via a message. Am now in the hotel, and a number of the songs on the playlist are not on her computer/iPhone. Have home sharing setup, and we are both on the hotel network, but not seeing the shares so she can copy the music over to her system. Is that to be expected? Should I expect to see her machine as shared on the hotel network? Thanks in advance...
