I've been successful in sharing music, etc. with my husband. We can both see everything besides applications. I only see 4 of his and he can't see any of mine. I know that we each have quite a few different apps so they should show when I choose "Items not in my library", and they don't show up when I choose "All Items".

Any ideas? We are both authorized on both computers and both have iTunes set to "Share entire library".

I was about to post this question as well, since I'd heard countless times that within a "family plan" apps could be shared. I've had no luck either. There's got to be a simple way, right? I thought that maybe both computers (now with Home Sharing) needed to have just one iTunes account, but was hesitant since would this mess up syncing (as far as bookmarks, email, etc)?

Edit: I just found the following on an earlier thread:

>>authorizing will work. just let him authorize your account on his computer, and he will be able to download your apps free of charge as long as he has your password.

Just not sure how to let someone authorize my itunes account on their computer. Is this signing out of current itunes and then signing into another account? If so, how does this enable the current apps to be saved into the other itunes account (signed out)?

pmbooks quote would seem correct to me.

My wife and I just got our Iphones and we use one library. It's actually cool except for the music. when we hook up each individual iphone it remembers who's it is by name and remembers most of the sync selections ie apps movies....

I'm just having a problem with the music. I have about 2500 songs with no play-list initially then I though I could just add a play-list for her since she would typically only have less than 100 to start with. If I uncheck all her songs in her play list they are unchecked in the all songs. I probably need to create my own main play-list but haven't so far.

Actually, I found success after restarting itunes on my wife's computer, she could see my file of apps and could move them over to her iphone successfully. mystery solved.

I've been able to connect my wife's and my computer via home share, i've tried to drag some of my apps over to her computer, they look like they are transferring, but where do i find them? they did not show up on her app folder, where would i find them?

thanks.

Brian,

All I can say is, I authorized both computers on both computers (maybe unnecessary), restarted her itunes. With both computers connected through Home Sharing, in her itunes I found my App folder listing all my apps. When I tried dragging one over to her Home Sharing folder, a bunch of the icons were highlighted (be sure to click the arrow/triangle to the left of both Home Sharing computers), and when I dropped the app there, it was copied into her App folder. I assume that when next she syncs, these apps will install on her iphone, but we've not done this yet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, The only place i was able to place any icons of apps was at the top of the left window under library....when i drag an app over there, it looks like it accepts it, but nothing new shows up in her app folder...
