Home Sharing w/ Remote App

I can view files in iTune's "Home Movies" folder on my ATV but not with the Remote App on my iOS devices. Am I missing a check box or something or is this how it is... no access to "Home Movies" on iOS devices?

If that is the case what is a good app that would let me stream video to my iPad? (Mostly, if not entirely, inside my home and via WiFi).

Not sure about iTunes but VLC allows streaming I believe.

To watch movies on your iOS device which are in your iTunes library, you don't use the Remote app. Instead, assuming that your computer is up and running iTunes, and all your devices are signed into Home Sharing, then you access your library from your iOS device via the Music app or Video app, depending on what you want to do. For you, the Video app should have a "Shared" icon in the lower-right corner ... tap that and give it time to load up what's available to watch.
