Hi everyone,
I wanted some ideas an how I can tweak our home theater wihtout spending much.
Background: We have an OLD tv (i.e no HDMI port :( ) so we recently bought the apple composite cable. Right now we can view photos, tv shows, listen to audio through home theater...etc. I want to know if:
1) are there any apps to control the ipod while it is connected to the cable useing an iPhone as a remote?
2) Could we use the remote app to control other speakers in the house useing an adapter? All ideas welcome.
Thanks. PS. if anyone see's a good deal on amazon for an 80/160gb iPod classic tell me :)

edit: I plan on buyying a use ipod classic, puttting it in a dock.
Have 2 iphone 4's and ipod touch 4g, in terms of apps (like tv out genie)

You can plug speakers into an Airport Express, then the iPhones/iPod touch can play directly through the speakers wirelessly. You can get a refurbished Express from Apple for $69. Edit: iTunes on a laptop/desktop can play through the Express as well.

There is a nice app called "Tunes Remote" which will allow you to use one iOS device as a player and another as a remote control. That would allow you to connect your iPod Touch to your component cable and control it from your iPhone.

This app is similar to Apple's "Remote" app, but it will control an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, whereas the Remote app can only control an AppleTV or a computer running iTunes.
