Since the release of iOS 13.1 it appears that none of my HomeKit automations are working. They all revolve around sunset or timing. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

I went ahead and deleted and remade all the automations. And they still seem to not be working. When I test the automations they work fine.

I have timing, sunset and even location automations and while some has been created on iOS 12 others I have created recently while on iOS 13.1. All of them work as expected.

thanks for responding. Odd. I recreated all of mine on iOS 13.1 andnone of the time based/sun based work.
ugh.

I'm in the same boat. All automations stopped after iOS 13 and still not working with iOS 13. My hub device was updated and rebooted, but no change. Hope this gets fixed. I'd hate to rewrite my automations.

Well even after re-writing mine they weren’t working. iOS 13.1.1 just came out so I’m hopeful that that will resolve the issue.

They are working again for me now. They actually started again when I updated my appletv to tvos 13. It serves as my home hub, so maybe that had something to do with it?

Yup here is mine

Mine still aren’t working and everything is updated. I’ll continue to try things.

I also had problems with the auto-things after update to 13.1.1 and an update on my Apple TV. Yesterday I updated to 13.1.2 and initially the auto-things still didn't work.
However after opening them one by one and clicking on 'test this automation', they now work again.

Thanks for posting about your experience. I am on the latest software and I have tried that as well. I also tried doing it in the Shortcuts app, Since they are now so intertwined. As of right now I believe my HomeKit automation still are not working. I will continue to try to troubleshoot this

Yeah but please be aware that automations in HomeKit should not show up in the Shortcuts app. Some voice commands however can show up in Shortcuts.

So going out or coming home should switch lights off or on automatically without voice control. These automations should also not show up in Shortcuts. But.....

I find the way automations are implemented very confusing and not intuitive. When you select a scene that scene has defined accessories and defined settings for each accessory that were defined in the scene.
But when you create an automation, I had to do it ALL over. Just selecting the scene doesn't work. You also have to specify the accesories once again and the settings of those. Which then makes you wonder why to add a scene to the automation in the first place.

Did you also have the auto-things set that way?
So:

1) activate the scene
2) create an automation while the scene is active
3) select the accessories that you want to activate (which are now working according to the scene that you activated under 1)

4) test
5) give a name and save

Perhaps we’re talking about two different things. But if you open the Shortcuts app there is a new automations tab on 13.1.2. Those are the same time based HomeKit automations. Is this what you’re talking about?

Keep in mind, scenes and automations are not the same thing.

Edit:
I figured it out! One of my Apple TVs was the one acting as the home hub. When I went into the HomeKit settings on that Apple TV it appeared that it wasn’t properly connected. I’m not sure why it defaulted to that Apple TV as the home hub, but it was the only one having problems.

I had problems with location based HomeKit notifications and automations (they didn't work) after updating to iOS 13. I finally resolved my issues by completely erasing and restoring my Apple TV 4K (which was my home hub). I had previously tried logging out of iCloud on my iPhone and deleting/rebuilding my entire HomeKit setup from scratch but ultimately it was my home hub that was the culprit.

Update: after 24 hours of everything working as expected, my location based automations no longer work and my homekit hub can no longer tell if I am home or not nor am I Apple to change HomeKit settings related to many home presence. Apple has really dropped the ball on iOS 13 and HomeKit.

Latest update: After toggling on/off every HomeKit related setting I could think of it seems things are finally working properly. Possibly when updating the iPhone a setting got “stuck” and resetting it helped.

Yes I was talking about those automations except that I did not yet discovered them in Shortcuts. (Which is not my favourite app and I'd rather delete it than use it.)

Issues here that I can’t resolve. My iPhone, Apple TV, and iPad are on 13.3, but HomePod is on 13.2.1. Home app says automations won’t run until o update my hub, but there is no 13.3 for HomePod yet. Assuming that’s the problem? I know it’s a beta, but still surprising when everything breaks because of it.

i have an issue with time based automations not working.

I found one issue for my location problem, but I am unsure how to fix it.
If you look in the home app automations, under “anyone” arrives, it shows all users as it is supposed to.

But if you go into the shortcut app and look at the automations – under “anyone” arrives for the exact same automation, it only shows users I have shared the automation with, it doesn’t list me at all.

It happens on both my iPhone and iPad, and my iPhone is set to the primary location for me.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I re-created the automations in the home app, and the issue still happens.

I have checked all location setting, everything is turned on.

I have even disabled the passcode on my iPad home hub temporarily so I can see if that was my issue, but nothing helped.

im running iOS 13.2.3 on all my devices

first photo is of the automation from the home app.
second photo is the same automation (created in the home app) inside the shortcuts app.
