Since iOS 15 all of my 9 Homekit cameras stop saving clips in the history reel when one of two HomePods (1 mini and 1 0G) becomes the hub instead of my AppleTV (latest version).

When ATV acts as s hub everything works great, but as soon as HomePod takes over all I can do then is to watch live (old recordings before the HomePod took over can also be watched).

My cameras are from Logitech, Eufy and Netatmo so the problem is not with a specific brand.

I’ve long been saying the HomePod is awful as a Hub and the ATV, especially when hardwired, just plain outperforms the HomePod. It’s a terrible shame Apple doesn’t allow us to disable the HomePod as a Hub like you can with the ATV and iPad. I get all kinds of issues with HomeKit when the HomePod takes over.

You can try forcing the ATV as the Hub by rebooting the ATV but there’s no guarantee it will stick for long.

For now I've been forced to use a smart plug for both my HomePods, which of course isn't optimal.

I do this with my Circle 2 cameras because they need a power cycle every now and again. Got sick and tired of pulling the plugs on them.

Not optimal of course but gotta appreciate the functionality and convenience of certain smart home accessories (I’m talking about the smart plugs here lol).
