I have my HomePod mini on my desk under my monitor and if I try holding my iPhone around the keyboard area to use it I start getting the "hold closer or tap for more controls" popup and haptic feedback. It's very annoying because if I just hold up my phone to unlock it or send a message I have to find the sweet spot where it doesn't try to do stuff with the HomePod. This wasn't an issue until the last update when they added the proximity stuff rather than the actual tap.

I‘m having the same problem. I’ve been trying to find a way to turn it off but sadly it doesn’t seem to exist. Very annoying.

My living room HomePods keep triggering… when I’m on the other side of the wall and at least 10 ft away. Weirdly enough it will be a single HomePod and not the pair.
