So what can the homepod do that the iPad Pro cannot do?

I guess the only feature that the iPad Pro doesn’t have is sending your music from your phone to your iPad Pro by holding it against the iPad. But that is not a feature that I need as I can always connect my iPhone to smart speakers I have across the house and play music that way.

Nothing? These devices aren’t really comparable. One is a stationary smart speaker while the other is a portable tablet computer. The iPad is obviously going to be the more capable device in terms of specs and features. But that’s not really the value proposition of a smart speaker.

HomePod stops at being a better speaker than the iPad. Not sure why one would want to compare different obvious product categories that are well established.

Because if an iPad Pro covers everything the homepod does, then I don’t need to buy a homepod?

So what is the value proposition of a smart speaker if someone already has an iPad Pro.

Based on what I seeing, the homepod seems a waste of money as my M1 12.9 iPad Pro can do the same things basically?

Let’s see, what might a speaker do better than a tablet… how about sound quality? Other than that, yes, both have Siri.
