My HomePod, updated to 12.4 with the iOS 13 Public Beta 4 update on my iPhone, will no longer send a message when I say Hey Siri, send a message to .... Siri says, uh oh, there's a problem.

I can place a telephone call as before by saying Siri, call ...

Is there any way to get this functionality back?

Yes, report it is a bug. Mine does the same. And I will get it reported.

I can only assume this is the best place to report this problem, as we can’t use the Feedback app to do it.

Edit: looks like it’s a bug with iOS 13 so you can report it via the Feedback app, so please do so. I’ve reported it.

Something changed around April 2019 that broke Siri in terms of recognizing who is my wife, daughter, sister, etc. I did not edit my contact in Contacts. I first noticed the problem with CarPlay. But the problem was consistently present in iOS, MacOS, and AudioOS too. To make a long story short, yesterday I discovered that the loved ones who were unrecognizable to Siri all had a first name, middle name, and surname. Loved ones who's names consisted of a first name and surname were recognizable by Siri across iOS, MacOS, and AudioOS. When I deleted their middle names within my personal contact, these people were once again recognizable by Siri. I cannot explain what changed around April 2019, but I feel adamant, that I did not make any changes to their names in Contacts and it worked reliably before this time.
