Just updated to iOS 17.1 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and my current homescreen wallpaper (which is different from my lock screen wallpaper) is no longer blurred. No matter what I do with a custom image, the homescreen wallpaper isn't blurred.

Anyone else seeing this?

Using one of Apple's photos, the homescreen wallpaper blurs - but using my own photo, it won't.

Note the blur does work on my iPad mini on 17.1

EDIT: Seems that you can get the homescreen wallpaper to blur, as long as you pair it with the lock screen wallpaper. But once you set a different homescreen wallpaper, it won't blur.

Same here. Blur is turned on in settings but the wallpaper isn't blurred. Really annoying. Hope it gets fixed.

I was just going to post about this. I am on a 14 Pro and noticed that my Shortcut action will no longer blur the wallpaper.

My action applies a specific image in an album for homescreen wallpaper and blurs it, this image is different than my lock screen.

I downloaded new wallpapers yesterday and had the same issue. The strange thing was ... one particular photo DID blur the background but none of the other 3. Then I tried to use the same photo (which did work) on another focus and it suddenly did not work either.

I had to delete the complete wallpaper set up and do a new Wallpaper combination (Lock and Home Screen) and then it worked. Not willing to try it now. Don't want to risk messing it up again haha

Unblur it, save, go back and blur it again.
That fixed it for me.
Thanks again for this, as for some reason it worked today.

I do notice a couple things:

- The settings app doesn't show it blurred, even if you get it to save as blurred (not a big deal, just weird)
- The settings app will show it blurred if the home screen photo matches the lock screen photo
- If you like to have your lock/home screens change with focus, this will cause the home screen photo to un-blur again when the new screen if shown.

I went through my shortcut, unchecked "Legibly blur" run it, re-checked the option, ran it, and now it's working.

This worked for me as well. I was racking my brain last night as I was switching wallpaper and saw my home screen, which was previously blurred, was no longer. Quite annoying, Apple.

This is correct, but it solves the problem only if you do not have different home screen wallpapers (only tested with live albums and live weather) in combination with focus modes. Every time you switch back to the original home screen / wallpaper configuration, the background wallpaper gets unblured.
