Hook up a Nintendo Wii with Mac Pro & 30" ACD ?

from what i remember reading in these forums, i think your solution is an el gato eyetv hybrid, but you might experience some lag. personally speaking, i think it's a little more trouble than it's worth. why not hook it up to a tv?
the eyetv hybrid will do it but it wont look to good. the gefen hdmate is good but very expensive.
Because it will be stretching the resolution.
The Wii only outputs picture at 720x480. The monitor of the Apple 30" is something like 2560x1650.
If you hook these up together, you will get poor picture quality because the small picture produced by the Wii is going to be stretched across that huge monitor.
Try on your Mac. Put your resolution at 800x600 and see how terrible the picture is.
You'd be surprised. My wii looks great on my 1080p samsung 40" LCD. The dpi is so high on that monitor that from 5 feet away it shouldn't look very blurry at all.
oh sorry it will look bad becuase the eyetv hybrid doesnt do a good job of converting the signal also you need composite cable which is the lowest quality cable.
You can hook you Wii straight up to the ciname display by buying a composite out for the Wii (£20) and then an adapter to go from composite to DVI. That's what I do with my 32" LCD.
