Ok I just bought a new Sony HD flat screen tv and I bought the two cables to hook my MBP to the PC hook up on the back of the tv. This is all I get on the tv, my desktop picture and when I launch Front Row the tv screen goes blank and thats it no tv shows or any thing I bought from Itunes shows up, what's wrong ?

go to preferences->display

click on detect displays and see if somehow you have an extra screen being detecting. it sounds like you have screen spanning on.

It was not that solution but I did find a post abought it, here it is below and it worked

This is kind of late but just in case or for future readers...if it is just showing your wallpaper you probably haven't turned on mirroring. The easiest way to do that is just go to system preferences, select "displays" and then check the box that says to show displays on menu bar. After that just go to your menu bar and find the new icon...and click turn mirroring on.
