Hey,

I just got home for Christmas Break from college and was thinking of hooking my MacBook Pro up to our monitor at home. The cord that is on the back of the monitor, looks similar to the one that is on the far right side, last one on the right, of the MacBook Pro. However, it is much smaller than that plug-in.

What would I need in order to hook it up?

thanks!

you need to know exactly what kind of plug is on the back of the monitor. Probably a vga or DVI. Your macbook pro has a dvi out, and if the monitor has dvi in then just use a dvi cable if its vga then use a dvi to vga converter (came with the macbook pro).

If you can, hook it up with a DVI cable (disregard the connector)...the port thats on your MBP is DVI, am check the monitor to see if it has a DVI port like the one on your MBP...:D

sorry to sound dumb, but it is just a smaller looking hookup than the one on the MBP. Looks the same though, but is just smaller.
