A Penryn based MacBook Pro and iMac.

Would be nice, but won't happen of course. Penryn will be introduced into the Mac Pro first and foremost, then the MacBook Pro. The iMac will follow, perhaps after the MacBook, but the chance of seeing the MBP and iMac get Penryn updates at MWSF is pretty much zero. Not that I would complain if it happened of course! ;)

I'm guessing we'll hear about iPhone updates and iTMS news as well. If a video rental service is indeed introduced, perhaps some update to AppleTV as well?...

Looking forward to catching up on the news when I return later that week from Cuba....

I hope the 10.5.2 optimized for Penryn rumors hold true. I'd be happy for any Penryn hardware at this point. :p

:confused::confused::confused::confused:hasn't a Imac already come out:confused::confused::confused:
144-145 days old and Penryn mobile is almost out.

The latest iMac was released in August. The next update should see the Penryn chipset in it or if nothing else, a slight proc update or (more likely, I hope at least) a graphics card update. Expdect a Penryn upgrade to the iMac in a few months...

A quick search should tell you a little more about Penryn.

MacWorld 2008 is closing in and waiting is the best option.

Google is your friend. Also, check out wikipedia.

Normally I'm not an advocate of the waiting game, but since MWSF is only a couple weeks away, I'd say wait until then before making any purchases. That being said, the MacBook Pro will receive the Penryn update before the MacBook, so I highly doubt we would see a Penryn MacBook announced at MWSF - the MacBook Pro, perhaps, but that's even pushing it IMO.

I'd like to see 3G crammed somewhere into the iPhone.

MBPs are fine; their rigidity and build would probably not be the best idea for the mag latch of the macbooks. Redesign? Fix only what is broken. I think the design of the MBP is of such high quality, it'll last longer than many will think.

I would like the MacMini to get a nice update both spec wise and aesthetically.
--but preferably spec wise

I would like to see a nice increase in the MacPro as well, especially in the graphics department. I'm thinking of ordering one within the year (end of summer?) as a rendering system for some graphic applications, but I would love to game on it as well!

Oh, and maybe a slight size increase on the iPhone, +1-4gigs would be nice.

Penryn is simply a superior chip architecture to the existing models, mostly due to its smaller size (45nm) which results in lower power consumption, resulting in less heat generation. There is also a resulting performance increase as well.

Once again, just do a Google search and educate yourself, all the information is there.

Lastly, there is no need for so many emoticons, please refrain from using so many in the future - it is not necessary.

3G is a mobile data standard that is faster, but more power consuming than EDGE which the iPhone uses.

The iPhone has a camera but cannot do video calls.

Well I will wait, with newer techs in place, one should also expect the prices to shoot up, right??

and i did googled up before posting, but the heavy jargon required me to read seriously, henceforth, the post.

I wonder why people tend to think this.

Intel releases their new hardware at close to the same price points as the previous hardware.

It's the nature of technology. An explanation from a fellow member might be just as bad or worse.

Not that we won't try to explain it...

Apple has historically been very good in this respect actually. Apple usually keeps prices the same and every once and a while has even lowered them, such as with the latest iMac updates.

No worries, if you have questions just ask - that's what we're here for. :)

Ask Apple
1. 37 inch iMac
2. A 32 core Mac Pro called the "Mac Poorhouse"
3. iPhone Shuffle
4. Rename to iApple or snApple
5. New SED based ACD
6. Apple store to built on the moon, the far side of the moon.
7. Use a Mac to make a Steve Jobs AI, like in Batman.
