This afternoon I found out that I have won a $1000 scholarship from school, I happen to have my school paid for already so that is $1000 in my pocket to do what I please. So Leopard was released and with my iPhone purchase earlier this month and my desire for a second laptop (I would probably use my MacBook as the primary and this Linux Thinkpad as the secondary machine) I am thinking that with my student discount I could go ahead and get a MacBook. My first impulse was to only spend the $1000 and not dip into my personal bank account and in that case I could get the barebone MacBook for $999 and take advantage of Free Shipping and after the taxes I would have everything covered from what is in my "student" account.
However, I looked at the big difference $200 makes, the faster processor and the Dual layer burner. Okay, so assuming that I can possibly afford the faster system then comes the question of should I get the AppleCare plan or not. Or maybe a better question, since the machine will come with a 1 year warrenty can I decide to get the AppleCare before the one year warrenty is up to extend my warrenty?
If all goes well I hope to be ordering one by the end of the week and then hopefully it will be here by the end of next week.
