Horizontal lines have appeared on my wife’s iPhone 6 screen (looks like a bad resolution video game from the 90s).

Soft reset / hard reset does not fix the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any ideas how to fix it?

Got her to take a screenshot to upload here, but the screenshot looks absolutely fine.

This leads me to believe this is a hardware issue with the screen.

Gonna have to take this to an Apple store I guess...

Could be the screen. Could be a screen cable or connection. One thing that comes to mind is the possibility that the battery is expanding and pushing on something else in there.

Apple online support chat suggested I try a full restore. Didn't fix the issue.

Took it to an Apple store and they said it could be a loose cable and could fix it for £125.

Decided to spend the money on a new phone instead.

Definitely a loose cable and in rare cases, a defective phone screen cable. Once reconnected, the lines should go away after a few hours of use.

Did she drop the phone? Bump it?

It's pretty easy to fix actually.
