Hi,
On a working trip (just finished) I needed to keep handy a list of things I had to do. Not being able to copy a TextEdit list over to my iPhone (from my MacBook Pro), or a Word doc, which would have been the most convenient, I ended up copying said list into the Notes field of a Contact created just for this purpose.
This way I could check the list during the course of the day.
But of course I couldn't edit the list... make changes, etc.

So I found myself missing the Treo I used to have, which allowed me to take a doc copied from my powerbook, and edit it, etc, with the tiny stylus.

Is there some other way of doing what I'd like to do (short of getting another Treo, which I don't want to do)?
thanks, malch

Why didn't you just use the Notes app to type your list instead of using your contact's notes section?

If you want a stylus, iPhone Stylus.

Search the app store for something that fits your query.

Hi wadejc85, thanks for the reply. Can I use Notes on my MBP, and then just copy across? I went looking for a Notes app in my Apps folder, and couldn't see it... (just the Notes app in Mail). Am I missing something here?
Thanks for the tip re the iPhone stylus.

I sent myself an email with the word doc attached and just open the email when needed
same with excel docs
Admittedly, can't edit them, but...

It would be nice to have a notes app on the Mac that would sync with the iPhone. I keep looking for something in the 3rd party apps.

SplashShopper can be synced with a desktop application. I know they make a SplashNotes app, but that isn't available for the iPhone (yet).

I don't think Apple (or the App store) has anything out (yet) that allows one to sync notes from the computer to the phone. :( If you have anything that you need, I would do as justbrowsing suggested: e-mail it to yourself.

No prob on the stylus.

Interesting suggestions, Max. Do you know if an evernote on an iPhone is editable?

Edit and sync notes between iPod Touch and desktop

Another solution: Appigo's Notebook, combined with the online service Toodledo.

Notebook is $4.99 through the app store; Toodledo is free, and able to handle more than just notes (the SSL version requires an annual $14.95, though). So far, so good. I’m finding the system an easy one to work with, since I can edit and sync both directions, from both my iPod Touch and any desktop computer with a functional browser.

Nothing in my copy of Notebook is sensitive, so I’m fine with the free version, but you do have options....

Thanks for the tip, PaperQueen. I've just purchased Notebook and Todo; will try them out (with Toddledo). Appreciate it,
