hot shoe flash for canon xt

i have a canon xt and my hot shoe flash is not working with it.

the flash is a quantaray qtb-7500a. I have a Canon EOS Elan II that i have used this flash with for years...... i thought that a canon fitted flash would just work for a canon camera..... is there something else i need to know or something else i need to do to get it to work, or am i just out of luck. thanks in advance.

Check with Quantaray to see if there is an incompatibility issue with newer digital cameras. Often this is the case with off brand flashes, they don't work with newer digital bodies.
