Hotel + Apple TV + Playstation 3

Hi!

I'm staying in a hotel, which requires to "accept terms" before going online. Like most Starbucks, Shopping Malls, a login page.

As we know, Apple TV doesn't have a browser, and my Playstation 3 which is arriving next tuesday doesn't have too (Or that's what I think)

What about a Wireless Range Extender? I can create a second hotspot for my room and then using my Mac accept terms and go online..

Do you have any other ideas?

What about creating an ad-hoc network on your Mac? Accept the term in your Mac browser and share the network connection with your other devices? Haven't tried this, but it seems like it would work.
 
My best guess is to add a USB wifi dongle, and then turn on the wifi sharing after logging in using the Mac. I have not personally tried this however.

With the USB wifi dongle, plus the internal wifi, you should be able to both receive the Internet, and then use the other one to send it to your devices.

There's a cheap Belkin router (N)
What if I share my internet connection via ethernet? Will it work?

Make sure you get one that works with your OS (lion I assume.) I think some do and some may not have drivers. (Of course, one that uses built in native apple drivers would be the best. Maybe the hackintosh people will know what works natively without adding drivers.)

I searched, and found a step by step that shows exactly what I think you want to try. It looks like this would work with any compatible USB dongle. Here is the link:

One more thing, even after this I am not sure if you can get around the hotel log-in. I vaguely remember doing this between my iPhone and my iMac a time or two when I was staying at hotels, sometimes I didn't need to login again, sometimes I did. I didn't do it very often, so I am not sure if it was a web cookie thing, a mac address thing, or something else. At the end of the day I think getting an USB wifi adapter and trying this is worth a shot however.

I think it might work to a single device, I am not sure if it would work to another router. Hard to say. You may have double nat issues like when two routers are hooked up together unless one of them is disabled.

If you have time and access to a computer store/best buy, you could always try it once you are at the hotel, if it doesn't work, simply return the equipment.

First I have to say that I really appreciate your help.

As you recommend, I bought a WiFi USB adapter. It should be arriving tomorrow.

Ok, it worked like a charm. Now my next goal is to make it work on Ubuntu 11.10, which I installed in my old-piece of *** netbook.
 
The bad thing about hotel WIFI is that it is usually slow as molasses, so shared it between devices is gonna lag a lot.

PS3 has a web browser, also has netflix & hulu +, so unless you want to rent movies from iTunes or airplay you won't need to connect the aTV

Also, I wouldn't leave so many goodies laying around on the hotel room, things like these tend to disappear and having just one thing out and the rest under lock & key will secure your goodies. Having too many things connected and then having to leave the room for X and finding back that they are cleaning it w/ all your stuff out is not smart.
