Hotkey for the trackpad double-click?

Hi, Applers.

Any help, if possible, with a preexisting or how-to-from-scracth hotkey for prompting the secondary menu to pop up as it does by double-clicking a file or folder in Finder?

It's faster for me to use on-keyboard actions only as I prefer this to the trackpad underneath the keyboard where I'd have to position and then reposition my hands.

Couldn't find the option from the System Setting > Keyboard options but I perhaps overlooked the like.

I presume OP means alt-click, not double-click. That's tricky from a keyboard perspective, since the alt-click menu is based on trackpad cursor position, not something like e.g. the currently selected file in Finder. So if you're pointing the cursor at the file, you can alt-click normally. If you're not, there's no way to alt-click from the keyboard, while specifying what to alt-click on.

Excuse the terminology as I am guessing what they would be called in English language. By 'secondary menu', I refer to the grey, short menu that normally pops up when double-clicking, for example, a file in Finder.

This grey menu has options like Open, Open with..., Move to wastebasket, Show information, Change name, Assign colour-coded tag and so on.

It is not by double clicking, it is "two fingers click" or "right click" (or Ctrl + click).

You can do this by using KeyRemap4MacBook (now Karabiner).

Oops, does not work with Sierra at the moment...

By double-click, I mean using both forefinger and middle finger at the same time versus single-clicking x2 an object as one would to open a file. I don't need the trackpad for I navigate and jump around through files using only my keyboard. What object I have my cursor resting at, to my understanding, has thus no relation to the trackpad.

Holding CNTRL (not ALT) and single-clicking does open the menu I am looking to hotkey though, so thanks for showing I needed clarify that.

It is a very nice soft that allows you to "remap" your keyboard, this means creating custom shortcuts, or modifying the output of any key.
