There is much talk about the new version of Hotline client and Server 1.9.1 for both Mac and Windows. Many say that information about file transfers, IPs, Login, and more are being logged and set to a centeral server. Some say its BS and all its doing is sending out requests for new Banner Adds... any insite on this topic? I would like to move to the new version ... If its safe. I mostly just use it for file sharring at home between my Mac and some PCs. Any out going traffic to the world can get stopped at my firewall but I do at times use it for transfers that require a WAN connection.

any p2p client produced by an actual company is going to have spyware. you can bet your bottom dollar that anything with a bigredh corporate logo on it is tracking something. try frogblast or heidrun, they are both good, free, and have no spyware. if you need to run a server, try hdx or terra.
