Hi to all,Im new to the site,i discovered it whilst looking for this hotspot solution!Does anyone know why my iPhone 14 when linked to my MacBook Pro m1 version via hotspot connects and works fine for a short while then goes from 100% connection to 50% or even 10%?This is a real pain as it freezes the screen.Ive tried most of the common suggested online fixes also contacted network supplier which tells me there are no issues?Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

This might be a combination of factors - your overall cellular signal strength (if the signal is weak, it will drain the battery faster), its band frequency (4G/5G, where 5G drains the battery faster), etc.

Also, how long is a “short while” before the battery rapidly drops down? How’s your battery health (Settings > Battery).

Can you give us a bit more quantifiable information, so it might be easier to troubleshoot?

hi, sorry its hotspot issue not battery

another thought, it generally happens playing poker rather than you tube etc, never when on home wifi though! maybe the site?seemed as though a lot had hotspot issues when I searched online thats why my first thought ran to the phone.

Can you see how much data is being shuffled?
Normal battery drainage on the phone?

Hard to tell if its phone related or if its the mac.
Could you try with another iPhone just to see if its related to your phone?

hi,i think it is the phone as about 6 months ago I had an iPhone13 mini and sold it because of this reason, always had Samsung and never had an issue even when pairing to a MacBook!!, I was offered an upgrade to an iPhone 14 at a cheap price, hoping issue may have been solved I had it but it doesn't look like it has.so to sum up, mac is fine on android and home internet problem only exists when with iPhone as the internet connection, only other option I suppose is usb cable for the connection?any other suggestions gratefully received....thanks
