Hello all,

Currently I have an iPhone X and love it. I have had it since 2017 and really have no desire to change. There is, however, one thing that could convince me to give it up. I use my phone's hotspot (ATT) quite a bit at work. Would the iPhone 13's 5G translate to a faster hotspot connection via the phone? If so, what is the download/upload speed of that 5G connection?

Ok, so I said "one thing that could convince me to give [the iPhone X] up." I often wonder about the photo quality difference between the two phones. But I digress... How 'bout that 5G hotspot?

Thank you.

If the 5G in your area (or wherever the phone is) is faster than lte, then yes it will be faster. Where I’m at I get 5G, but even 2 bars LTE is faster than full bars 5G. Your hotspots connection speed is going to be whatever the phones speed is.

now i see it

My experience with hot spots was that the tethered phone got download speeds 1/2 of the actual connection speed
