Well today was another day to break my cMP down and clean out all the dust from inside. Can't believe how much dust goes through my cMP. It seems like I'm cleaning it out about as often as I have my AC serviced. :) Anyone else do this their cMPs. Of course it does run a lot cooler after cleaning it out. It goes from a PCH die temp of 150 F or so down to 136 F. It almost makes me want to look up that thread where they guy installed all these filters on his cMP. Almost not there yet.

Keith,

I bought an iSchmutz Mac Pro Air Filter for my system some time back. It had no detrimental effects on system temps that I could discern, but the need for cleaning proved that it didn't really help much either.

Just keep cleaning.... ;)

I'm not sure about this. Sounds like an extremist to rent a billboard and clean a computer on a daily basis! :p
I clean the ole 3,1 in Jan and July.

Mine is on top of the desk as well. I do live in an older home in Florida and the AC runs year round and I have to have it cleaned about every 6 months as well.

In Florida also, blast mine every year or so with one of these:

Works like a champ. Mine sits on top of a dresser turned de facto computer desk so not too much dust. Would be much worse on floor.

I have one of those except for the attachments. It also works great at cleaning out floor fans. They are a pretty awesome little unit.
