Heres how it would work

Open the app in your ipad/iphone , lets say GTA 3.

maybe if they open the AppStore on the ATV u wont need to airplay


But until then You airplay mirror the game to the apple tv

Use the game controller instead of the iphone/iPad

The app store has a lot of good games that are cheaper than the ps3 games for sure not as polished but i don't mind

Is there a game controller out now ? From another company

Oh my gosh, I completely think you are on to something. I've thought this before. I predict Apple will break into the home gaming market within 3 years. Hopefully sooner.

Apple TV 3 is completely capable of streaming games ala onlive.com. Apple is definitely the company to take server-side games to the next level.

Consumers will easily pay $50 or more per controller. I would.

I also predict the rumors of an actually Apple TV set will prove bogus. They will stick with Apple TV, the $99 box, and they'll revolutionize the TV world. Then, the next step will be to revolutionize the gaming world with your controller.

Some games require controllers.

Other games optimized for touch display (such as Cut the Rope) are better without controllers.
