How accurate is Location Services without GPS?

Sorry for the few threads I've made tonight, I'm just really unsure what iPad to pre-order!

So as the title says, what is Location Services like on the WiFi model? I'm not really bothered about 3G the only reason I would be getting one is for the GPS.

I understand the WiFi model won't run turn by turn application, but what about Google maps getting you current location?, apps such as certain Twitter ones that tell everyone where you are tweeting from? How accurate is it without GPS?

while the circle is a bit large the app dot puts me at the right location within the house.

I'm guessing its pretty solid if there is minimal movement.
