How am I receiving unsolicited downloads in my "downloads" folder?

Hi all,

I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer.

I was sorting through my downloads folder this evening when I noticed that it contained some documents I had never downloaded before. One was someone's homework assignment (I searched it, and it was online), and the other was avatar sized images.

Anyone have a theory as to how these are ending up in my download folder without me voluntarily downloading them?

What browser are you using? Does anyone else have access to your Mac?

I use google chrome....I don't think anyone has access to my computer- only I use it, and I don't have a MobileMe account which I hope means no one can remote access any files. Still a little confused and nervous though as to how this is happening.
