I've been an Apple "Follower" for a very long time, but over this past week, not so much. It all started when they requested for me to fax in a Notarized ID for my Iphone Dev Account. Sure, it was kinda a pain in the ass, but what ever. So I did. Three days later, no response. Called up ADC, talked to a Lady who sounded Very Angry with Life. I was so used to the lovely people at Apple Care, but this was nothing like my experiences with Apple Care. Long story short she gave me a ticket ID and tried to rush me off the phone. No response, so I called two days later. The next lady asked me to respond to an email with the pdf of my id and she could then unblock me. Two days later, no response. Called a few more times and these people said they would escalate it. Over this period of time, I continued to fax it from multiples faxes and online faxes. Multiple times I asked if I could speak to this department which processed the forms. They said They weren't even allowed to speak with them. Oh my God, seriously what is this, like a secret department. I just want my God Damn Developer Account.

Thanks Apple for royally pissing me off.

Sometimes in the corporate world things don't happen as quickly as one would like. I think you're overreacting just a little bit.

Nah, If they hadn't of taken my money already I wouldn't be so pissed.

Why anyone expects amazing service from call centers of multi billion dollar companies is beyond me.

Word to the wise, go into it expecting the worst treatment in the world, that way your never dissapointed

I think your justified in your "pissed offness", that sux, but, it's Apple's company at the end of the day. No offense but they couldn't really care less if you become a developer, they are making billions, they can wait all they feel like!! If you don't like it, hello android... lol Sadly its just the way it is with Apple! They are the gods so to speak and we are the workers making them all the money... sad but, thats life.....

Oh and ps, they asked me to send in that crap to, and i got out of it... hahaha :D I'm very clever... Within an hour of sending them the email after they asked for it, I was approved....

Yeah, I certainly hope your attitude with the Apple people on the phone isn't the same as you're displaying here. If so, it's no wonder they wanted to get you off the phone.

I just opened a new developer account a couple of weeks ago and had the same problem with having to fax a notarized ID. I called the number and talked to a really sweet Scottish girl who fixed everything and my account was live in minutes.

No, It's not. They really don't even let me even explain anything. Their all just like "I'll escalate this to my supervisor, call back in a few days". Which I'm pretty sure means, Trash Can.

What exactly did you do to get your dev account blocked? If you don't mind me asking.
Since I don't have my own Credit Card, I used a family members.

Do you remember her name? Maybe I'll call again and ask for her.

This is EXACTLY why you and many others should look into developing for Andriod. Proprietary software is a dying breed.

You know what guys, I think I have the right to say I'm not being impatient. Every time they promise to give me a call, or email either way if they have updates, I hear nothing back. They are extremely rude on the phone, give ******** reasons why it's taking so long, tell me they will Escalate it to their superiors(Who ever they are), blah blah blah blah blah. Is it really that hard to process a Faxed document? They told me it would take 15 minutes in the beginning, and I would be on my way.

Might as well just ask for a refund.

Really? The last names match?

It must be a full match on the complete name and address for the transaction to be accepted. In this case the transaction has probably been rejected by the bank and Apple are trying to find out why. I don't know how Apple are organized internally but I would be very surprised if the iPhone development department handles this, it's more likely handled by a centralized payment risk department who are more used to handling problems with the ordinary Apple Store.

Well, I've had my deal of issues with apple, what with bank issues, age issues, etc. It was months after I'd payed for the account when my first app actually made it into the app store. What are you going to do? Just be patient. Apple has pissed all of us off somehow.

It hasn't been declined by the bank. Apple's just being slow.

Arg. I called Again. They see ALL of the faxes I have sent, but they can't do anything. Apparently they are based in Scotland, and the billing department is at Corporate. Anyone know a phone # I can use to try and get in contact with the billing department?

00 800 2775 2775 is Apple Corporate. Good luck.

Note, I typed that correctly. It is an international freephone number and connects to Cork.

Update: The lady I chatted with apparently did follow through this time. It looks like she personally got in contact with that department. Out of 9 DIFFERENT people I chatted with, she was the only one that made an effort to try to help solve my problem.

Nerver Mind: Just got a call, and apparently because I'm under 18, I have to wait. God Dammit, just one month away.

I'm one of those idiots who never reads the TOC. One day I'm probably going to agree to pay someone $1,000,000 without knowing it.
I should of just slightly altered the birth date on the fax.
