So my phone is in recovery mode right now and I can not get it out of recovery mode. My question is I see tons of tutorials saying this is how to do it on windows Use quickpwn. oh cool but according to other posts quickpwn has not been updated to unlock your phone on 2.1 so which is it?

Also can someone please direct me to some helpful information. I really just want to unlock my phone with 2.1 but there are so many posts about how to do it all different but all use quickpwn which as i stated before has not been updated for 2.1 What I am trying to get at is how can i do this? How can I get my phone back?

Also everyone says to use a custom ispw and the one i downloaded from one of the links is not valid or doesn't work or something even when i tried to redownload it. It seems like a lot of people are saying to get one and use it yet no one is talking about where to get them.

p.s. I know the search function is a wonderful tool and i have tried using it and all that comes up are confused people like me or people that say upgrading their phone was as easy as snapping their fingers. I would just like a clear and concise answer to get my phone back thank you in advance

there is an unofficial version of quickpwn out(from the fake quickpwn.com website) that works on the ipod touch. . .but when i try to use it on the iphone(2.1) it doesn't let me to the next step after browsing to the 2.1 firmware file

works for the ipod touch though. . .ghey

For a 3G there's no quickpwn out yet for 2.1. There's a long ass process you could try if you don't wanna wait for a new quickpwn or winpwn release for windows though.

i just restored using custom 2.1 firmware without using quickpwn/winpwn etc etc and it worked fine.

Unlock with 2.0 first, then just update to 2.1 through iTunes and it will keep the unlock.

As for getting your phone out of recovery mode, iLiberty has a handy function that will take it out of recovery mode, DFU, and vice versa easily put your phone into those modes for you.
