It seems as though EVERY Apple product I get seems to have an issue with dust under the screen. My iPad has it, as well as dead pixels. I've never had an issue with dead pixels before on ANY of my Apple products (there's always a first for something, right?!) and this is the first time. It pisses me off how the pixels just flicker. I'm a little hesitant to schedule a genius bar appointment. I'm free tomorrow, and can go in and get it fixed. BUT, How are the replacement iPad's? I don't want them to have MORE problems than my iPad has...
Are the problems less or worse?

Thanks.

Well we're obviously dealing here with purely anecdotal evidence. But in that spirit, I can cheerfully report, based on a careful study of my own iPad exchange history, that 100% of my replacement iPads (1 out of 1) have been perfect. So far.

if you end up going for an appointment, don't leave the place without checking the replacement. i had mine replaced for wifi problems, and the replacement had a, for lack of a better term, divot in the aluminum. it was weird. and the other replacement had a very yellow half of it's screen. bottom line don't leave until you are satisfied, and the geniuses have been very accommodating in this respect.

I just got back from returning mine because it had a piece of dust right in the centre of the screen. The colours on the replacement are a lot different, contrast is higher, and there's now two pieces of dust as opposed to the one. At least these are smaller and off to the side instead of in the very centre of the screen but still. It's really aggravating.

I had to go through three different MacBook Pros because they had dust behind the screen as well and in the end the only solution was me saying "screw it" and getting the matte version that didn't have the glass in front. Unfortunately I have no such option here.

Edit to add: I also had to argue with the employee over it as he claimed it was "within spec." My iPad had a very noticeably rattle whenever it was moved as well which was why he eventually caved and replaced it, but he was adamant that it was otherwise fine. Considering I got the 64 gig 3G model, I found that absolutely ridiculous.
