How are you handling movies for your iPad and Apple TV?

I picked up an iPad this past weekend and am curious as to how people are handling their movies. I have an iPod Touch and an Apple TV and the iPad will basically push the Touch off to the kids. For the those two devices, I had two copies of each movie - one ripped in the Touch preset in HandBrake and the other in the Apple TV preset. I kept each copy in separate directories and in separate iTunes libraries. I normally keep the Apple TV library loaded, but it's a real pain whenever I want to sync the Touch to close one and open the other and then remember to switch back when I was done. I was going to do something similar with the iPad, but was wondering if anyone had anything more clever than that. I could keep them in the same library but seeing multiple copies of movies bugs me.

What are you all doing?
 
Remove manual conversion entirely.

Air video app will play your movies and convert them at the same time, only takes about 2 seconds to buffer. $2.99 though there is a limited free version to test it.

Way worth it plus you dont have a space issue, files are kept on your home computer

Aren't the file sizes are awful big with that format? As a test, I ripped a movie using the ATV, iPhone, and Universal presets. The ATV file was 1.59 gig, the iPhone was 621 meg, and the Universal format was 1.68 gig. Is that similar to what you experience or do you change the presets in any way?

yep, i have over a TB of movies at my disposal on my ipad, all i need is an internet connection.
 
I use ATV preset and all my ipad movies look great :D..... so just use the movies you ripped for ATV for your ipad too ;)
 
XBMC on appleTV getting videos from NFS mount on my mac. iPad using Air Video HD. Format ... doesn't matter at all.

Have you tried play list syncing? You could set up smart play lists, perhaps based on bit rate. You would then not have to worry about which is which, and you could set the iPod to sync the lower bit rate files, and the iPad and AppleTV to sync the high bit rate files.

I messed around with that but am trying to keep things simple. I think I'll just stick with the standard ATV format for now, though it does take up a lot of space - but I did get a 64 gig 3g for a reason!
