How are you other people with intel imacs finding the keyboard?
Mine (a wired standard one) is pretty horrid really, and regularly ggives me ddoubble letters and spaces and sotimes missing lettes.
I fiddled around with the repeat rate to no avail, so I phone apple and they said they'd send me a new one.
Lets hope they're not all like this... I'm a writer, and never have I made so many mistakes!

I prefered the older style white & black apple keyboards wth the clear perspex surround and usb's on the side, than the new apple keyboards...

I have a bluetooth one and it's ok. Buttons feel a little plasticy and hard, compared to my powerbook and my logitech DiNuvo BT keyboard......

I don't have an iMac, but I have hated the Mac desktop keyboards for about the past 10 years. They're just incredibly mushy and unsatisfying. I haven't used a desktop as my primary computer since before 2000, but back then, I always bought a third-party keyboard instead.

OTOH, my current keyboard, the iBook G4, is just great. Love it, love it, love it! Well, except for the fact that the keytops wear off and now my equals key looks like a dash and my dash key looks like an equals key.

I like it alright. Although, I have pressed F13 when I wanted Delete a couple times. That can be annoying. I'm coming from a PC keyboard though, so the keys are a little different.

My Apple keyboard and mighty mouse are still in the sealed wraps inside the iMac's box. I already had the same items, so I kept them sealed up. I figured if and when I sell the machine, the buyer will appreciate those being brand new.

To the point, I do very much like Apple's keyboard and Mighty Mouse. The keyboard is the best I've ever used. I really like the feel of it. Furthermore, the Mighty Mouse is outstanding. Of course, I have to have two button functionality, but the scroll ball and scroll click, and side buttons give me so much added productivity. It is so easy to bring up Expose and Dashboard. :)

im using the one which came with my 2002 G4 iMac with the USB ports on the side. I reckon its one of, if not the best wired keyboard for the Mac out there. I still think the Powerbooks keyboard, despite being smaller and with less buttons, feels better. i think its coz you dont have to press the buttons as much.

Everyone else follows standards for layout, apart from Apple. :(

It's the lack of a gap between the number keys and the function (F) keys, howesey. If you're not used it, it can be a problem when you're feeling for the delete key an used it not having a key directly above, it can be a little confusing. And it really sucks when you're playing Diablo 2 and you go to switch to a different style of attack and instead you gobbled up a potion.

As for the iMac keyboard, I think it could be better. I don't like the openness of it because dirt and hair just love to seep inside and jam the keys causing them to stick or generally not be nearly as good as when it is clean. In fact, I'm using one of the old black and white keyboards that came with a G4 Cube right now because I have a bluetooth keyboard and needed a keyboard to use while recharging the batteries and borrowed this one from my brother for the 30 so minutes it takes to recharge the batteries and I liked it so much he's going to have to ask to get it back, raha. But the best Apple keyboard I've used would probably be the one that game with the beige PowerMac G3. It's been a while since I used it, but I don't remember the keys ever sticking and they seemed to have the right amount of give to them and it took a good long while before it needed to be cleaned whereas the iMac keyboard seems like it needs cleaning every month. Though, at least with the iMac keyboard, as I go bald, I'll know where all my hair went. That and the shower drain.

My keyboard on my new Intel iMac was doing the same thing. I also adjusted the repeat rate to no avail. I guess I will be calling Apple too.

I like my new Bluetooth Keyboard, but I agree...the openness isn't a great idea. Looks nice, but I'm sure they could've encased the bottom in plastic while keeping the aesthetic value of the keyboard. I would, however, love to have a keyboard with the satisfying textile feel of my PowerBook - love that notebook keyboard feel. Also my oldoldold Dell has one of the Natural keyboards (split down the middle, wave-like shape) and it was simply AWESOME. My hands felt amazing using it, and the key feel when typing was awesome. The older black Apple keyboards are horrid, after a while the keys get hard to press and stuck...our Mac Lab has several of these keyboards, they're atrocious.

PS - this is the natural keyboard. Best keyboard I've ever used.
