How much faster is the top imac (3.0GHz)to the base macbook pro (2.4GHz)?
Are the graphics card that big of a difference from 8600 256 to the 8800 512?
And is there anything besides screen size that the imac has over the macbook pro or vise versa?
thanks

EDIT: oh and both having 4 gigs of ram

for gaming and video encoding etc. it probably makes a pretty decent difference... for everyday stuff though prob not too much...

I use a 15" MBP w/ 4GB of RAM and a 256mb Graphics Card, 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo.

I run VMware Fusion, Adobe CS3, Final Cut, Logic, Aperture, Microsoft Office and a few other programs too all with no troubles.

Seems to work pretty nice actually, and the portability is always nice. :apple:

Have you also tried to run some games as well?

dude how slow is aperture.
i just umm acquired it.

and i moved my 5 iphoto libraries into it and its not the sharpest utensil right now with i think a little over 2k of photos

maybe i need more ram.
im pretty sure it would help
as i run photoshop alongside of aperture alot

hey have you tried using bridge?

I haven't actually used bridge.

Aperture seems to work pretty good, though I haven't really used it much. The 4GB of RAM definitely makes things pretty smooth, I will say that much! :apple:

i mean there are a lot of serial code web sites
