I'm really liking what I am hearing with the few tracks of music mixed in Dolby Atmos. Problem now is, I want more. How big will this get? Will entire catalogues get mixed this way? I want the all of Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk in this format!

What will the Dolby Atmos scene look like 1 year from now? Any guesses?

Over time, a lot of stuff will be remixed. But for back catalog stuff it will only get done if its popular enough, in all likelihood. New stuff will probably all support it before too long.

I think it will be there just as a watching a 3d movie Dolby átmos, is a gimmick IMHO.
How is it a gimmick? I’m no audiophile and the difference is clearly there if you have the setup (Spacial Audio capable headphones or Atmos enabled home audio). So different it is like going from early 4:3 tube TV to a 4k modern TV.

With Apple products Dolby atmos sounds a bit garbled and the quality gets worse when you start using Apple Preset EQ, the DB drops massively. I have a Dolby Atmos capable home theater and to be honest the difference is night and day. Dolby Atmos feels like watching the band in a concert to be honest, where as loss/hi res songs with capable headphones/earphones sounds like I’m inside the recording booth of a studio with the band, i can hear ever tiny detail to the T, every instrument stands out in perfect detail.

Just personal preference IMHO but I’ll stick with higher quality sound, if you like atmos go all in, but if you have chance to try all types do it for sure and judge for yourself!

The difference is great enough and Apple is such a large distributor that all music produced in the future will be in Atmos. For older songs, remixing them for Atmos will only be done on a case by case basis, and then rarely.

Have you tried with Airpod Pros? To me the difference is night and day between stereo and Atmos. Same as with my home theater with Atmos.
