Post COVID a lot of restaurants here are using QR codes for menus. When I’m physically in a restaurant apple works so much better than android. Just go to take a picture and it opens the link.

however when I look on a restaurant website or Facebook page I can’t find an easy way to open the QR code there.

If you're already on the restaurant website, look for a menu button. You shouldn't need a QR code.

Provably. But it’s more the technical side of opening a qr code as they are becoming more used due to COVID meaning less paper and the fact that I’m sure I’m just missing something simple as I don’t believe apple has made qr code usage so easy in one way and not in the other.

Found a solution that works well albeit it’s a google solution rather than an apple native solution. Take a screen shot of it. Open the google app. Google lens. Open the pic and it offers me the link.

Funny - that's how my Android device works. OK, maybe not THAT simply, the camera app on my Pixel 2 XL includes the Google Lens feature, I can use that to scan a QR code and it gives me the option to copy the text or do a Google search for it. I'm sure if that text was a link I'd have an option to open it in Chrome.

CONFIRMED - I created a QR code for a website, pointed Google Lens at it and the address just popped on top of the QR, to be tapped to access the page.
