If one time comes when I only have my Android phone or a windows computer and don't have any apple device.

Is there a way to access my keychains and view my passwords ?

Not that i am aware of although, you may be able to see the information if you download all of your iCloud data from applied.apple.com. Once your request is granted, Apple will make your all data available.

You can enable iCloud keychain in Chrome on Windows. You need to install the iCloud app for Windows and the iCloud browser extension for Chrome.

If you're going to be using Windows and/or Android. You should switch to a multi-platform compatible password manager. My current preference is for Bitwarden. Then transfer keychain and disable keychain, and any other password managers. Including password management built into web browsers.

This way you just have one source that works on all your devices and major browsers.

I haven't used Keychain in a while. If it's still like it used to be. Browsing your passwords and creating a backup list is way easier in Bitwarden. You always want a backup. As a cloud service can always flub up and wipe all passwords. A password protected Excel file is a good way to store it or a hard copy in a safe or safety deposit box.

Edit: It also amazes me. But again Apple is showing preference for Chrome over Firefox. Yes, Chrome has a bigger market share. But Apple is supposed to be all about privacy. Since they supposedly aren't concerned about market share. It just seems they should show preferential treatment for a major browser which aligns much more closely to their privacy stance. Maybe help it get some more users.

Do note that if keychain is turned off on every device, then it's deleted/gone.

I can't find any info saying whether the Chrome extension counts as a device or not.
