I met someone at a recent networking event who had me scan a QR code business card directly from their Apple Wallet—it was a clear step up from the old-school method. Instead of typing, that quick scan made saving contact info incredibly easy.

I’d love to have that feature on my phone, but I haven’t seen an option in Apple Wallet to create a business card. Is this something iOS supports natively, or do you need a third-party app? If it’s the latter, I’d really appreciate any recommendations for a reliable solution. Thanks a ton!

You need to make your own. I used a site like qr.io to create my V-card QR code. Then used Pass2U Wallet to create the card to add to Apple Wallet.

When creating the card in the app, select the "Scan the barcode message" option and scan the V-card QR code you created. (Or if you saved the QR code to photos, then select the "Get the barcode from an image" option.) Customize the rest of the card (colors, text, images, etc.) and add it to your wallet. Voila!

There are other apps out there too, like SoCard: Digital Business Card that does everything within the app, but I didn't like how they injected their own branding onto the card. Even in the V-card QR code they generated, they put a link to their site on my contact card. Maybe if I paid, I could customize the card further and remove those stuff, but I was able to do what I wanted for free using the app above.

Thanks! I'm looking into some third-party options, I see a couple of good candidates, but I need to check a few more things to compare them properly.

I use Uniqode and I can share my digital business card as an Apple Wallet pass, you can check out the instructions here. It was easy to create even for me. I don't think this can be done without using a third-party app by the way.
