I need to change my IMEI number on my iPhone from a US one to an unlocked UK or a French IMEI.
This will allow to use my iPhone for the o2 network. Does anybody know how I can change my IMEI. Any tutorials I have found are old so I don't know if they work.
Thanks for any help.
I don't expect to receive any IMEI's and I realise changing an IMEI is illegal but I don't really have another choice.
Thanks.

I'm glad you know it's illegal. We won't be helping you.

You've already unlocked your phone. Just put their SIM card in there and it will work!

I use an O2 SIM from Ireland in my iPhone (U.S.) and it works fine. Don't do illegal things.

How does it work? The iPhones are IMEI locked and it wont accept my SIM I've jailbroken it with redsn0w and it won't work.

Jailbreak does nothing to a 3G or 3GS phone for unlocking without ultrasn0w. Go to cydia and install ultrasn0w, then it would be unlocked.

If the phone is unlocked then it should accept any simcard

Yeah, that ok for Countries. But the iPhone are IMEI locked so even if you unlock it you can't use it in a different region because the IMEI is on the US database.

Actually, you're wrong. iPhones are carrier locked, and IMEI is just a way to identify the phone. IMEI BLOCK however, is something that happens with carrier networks, where a stolen phone gets reported, and then the IMEI of it gets blocked so that it won't be able to make calls on that network. If you get ultrasn0w, the carrier lock goes away and therefore you're able to use the phone anywhere.

I don't think there is a way to do it on the 3G.

There was a way on the 2G that involved using ZiPhone, but that only worked up to 1.1.4.

But as people here are saying, you just need to unlock to use it on O2, you don't need an IMEI change.

Yah, I only just realised. I'm such a retard. Sorry guys. I hadn't installed ultrasn0w yet. I forgot. I'm an idiot. Sorry for wasting your time.
