was wondering how to determine what screen you have either a LG or Samsung?

i tried system profiler and booting up using the first disk on the installer holding "D" down and both showed just "LCD Screen" ... no details as to the manufacturer...

thanks...

BTW i did a search of the forum and was unsuccessful with it.. couldnt find exactly what i was looking for.

I'd like to know a clear way to do this also...it's hard to find on the forums.

Go to :apple: > System Preferences > Displays > Colour (see how i spelt it proper ;) )
Then select 'Colour LCD' and Open Profile.

Now scroll to line #13 and you have Model # a number like:

00009C69

This is what you need to know who made your screen. Just search the number you find on this forum and you'll find it (mine is 17"Hi Res MBP)...

Does anyone have a list of what the manufacturer and model codes mean?

Mine shows:

Manufacturer: 00000610
Model: 00009C57
Manufacture Date: BFF87B80
