macOS How can I create my own icon?

Hello,
I have programmed an application, and now I would like to create an icon. I've create an icon with Pixelmator and then I've copied my picture into the window of the Icon Composer. But now I’d like to connect the icon with my app. And now my question is, how can I connect the icon with my app?

Save the icon in Icon Composer as a .icns and then add it to your project in Xcode and then change Icon File in Info.plist to the name of your icon
