I looked at my sent email list in Mail a few minutes ago, and the number of email listed is appalling when I consider having to delete them one at a time! It could literally take weeks!! Is there a way to delete sent email "in buik"?

Hi
it's quite the easiest thing you can do. Go to the Sent Email, use a filter, press ⌘A to select all the emails, then Move to Trash. (in case you delete smth important you'll have a 30-day backup, I believe)
I'd recommend using a filter to make sure you are not deleting important emails too.
And unsubscribe from some newsletters, which will help you in the future.

Cheers

If you only want to select some, you can hold down the Command button while clicking, to select multiple individual emails, or use the Shift key to select a number of emails (Click one, hold down shift, then click another further down/up the list, to select all in between).

You can also sort your emails by sender or whatever so that you can select chunks of lists easily as suggested by T'hain Esh Kelch.
