iPod How can I disable charging when it's plugged in?

Well, if I have some new songs and I just wanna add them in by synchronizing but I don't wanna shorten my battery lifespan by charging it every time i plug it in to the USB port. Is there any feature which enables me charge only when I want to? Or any other better solution?

You will not kill your battery by plugging it in for a few minutes.

Lithium batteries don't have the memory problems that you're probably thinking of. As long as you're letting it fully drain out every once in a while, these minor times when you plug it in is not a big deal.
