I have a 9.7 iPad Pro and I seem to need to charge it more than I remember. How can I get the battery status? I want to see if it is time for a new battery, or if that is too expensive, a new iPad?

You can’t on the iPad itself. Iirc, Apple disabled that function on either iOS 8 or 9.

However, you can connect to a computer and use iMazing (PC/Mac) or Coconut Battery (Mac only) to check.

Really! My bad. I’m only on my phone to check right now and I have never needed to use the function on my iPad. Thanks for the clarification ?

Those settings options were a direct result of #batterygate. Since there was no #batterygate for iPad, the features never made it there.

No doubt Apple would prefer not make that info available to consumers but they needed to make amends after all the negative press.

Was that the same reason why they added battery health to Apple Watch and macOS?

Connect iPad to computer and use coconut battery or iMazing. iMazing is available on both macOS and Windows. Coconut battery is Mac only.
