hi, ive just got a few dvd-rs with some avi files on, they were burnt on a pc and show up fine on a pc but my mac wont display the files even though its reading the disks ok!

is there anyway to show these files or copy them to my hdd or something?

im using panther 10.3.4

thanks

hi thanks, tried but no luck

i dont think its that the files are hidden because they show up on pc's but i think it has something to do with the fact the disk was burned on a pc, maybe some setting wasnt checked?

does anyone have any ideas?

if you want to view hidden files in a directory, open up terminal, change to the directory and use ls -a. this will list all files in a given directory including hidden ones. do a man ls to see all the switches.

LOL. i just realised that there are a couple of threads on hiding files and another couple on making hidden files visible.

would be so funny if the hiding files thread was posted by a guy and then his girlfriend gets on MR and posts about making the hidden files visible. :D he he.
