I had a Dell U2415 attached to my Mac Pro via 4K HDMI KVM, and I replaced it with an ASUS PA278QV monitor with 2560 x 1440 resolution. However, I only get the resolutions of the Dell U2415, for the Mac misidentifies this new monitor as the old Dell. How can I fix this?

Flowrider's suggestion is a valid test, and should force your Mac to read the connected display (showing available resolutions), and you did not say if you did try that already.
If the KVM is an active/powered device, did you try recycling power to the KVM (while the ASUS is connected and powered on)?
Have you tried an NVRAM reset of the MacPro?

Thank you. Recycling power on the KVM did the trick.
