I have just bought a new MacBook Air laptop to go with my iMac desktop computer. I had understood that alterations to information on my iMac would automatically update on my MacBook Air. It doesn't work. How do I make it work?

You can use iCloud Drive to sync files in the Documents folder and Desktop.

Sign into both devices with the same iCloud account.
Settings > Click AppleID ( top row ) > Check everything you wish to share between devices.

Hello Both. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise I had to sign in to iCloud on both computers to allow alterations to sync. I have just tried it and of course, it works. Many thanks to you both. Regards, Brian

OK. I have been keeping an eye on things since my last post and whilst I am linked with iCloud, nothing has changed. I still have problems, particularly with my Safari Favourites. they are still jumbled up. I understand that by clicking Edit Bookmarks, I can move them into their correct location but when I drag one of the Folders to its correct place and release my drag, it jumps back to where it was. Should I be clicking another key after dragging the Folder to its new location?
