iOS How can i get my publishing certificates

Hi everyone im hoping somebody can help,
I run an iphone dev company and I havent a clue how to develop myself.
I had a lead developer who helped me the set the company up who has now left.
He had the certificates for publishing our apps. Hes still on our system as Im scared to take him off without getting these certificates.(not sure how i do this)
He set it all up on his home mac.
I have a new developer starting Monday so I need it all sorting by then.
This guy is on our system as admin and legal so its important i get this sorted asap.
Any help would be gladly appreciated.

I believe the most important piece you need to get is the private-key. All the other certificates and profiles and such can be downloaded via the Program Portal. Is it possible the ex-lead-developer left a copy of the private key, which would have been saved in a .p12 file, on your system? If so, good. If not, you need to contact that ex-lead-developer and have him send you that file. As for the admin and legal, I think that can be changed in iTunes Connect.

Thank you for that.
Unfortunately he is not taking our calls and all the development stuff where on his mac. Silly I know but I thought I could trust him, obviously not.Would Apple supply a new key if we explained the situation as I am now stuck!

Well, if you trusted him, you probably didn't have an employee agreement in place that stated you own all the work he provided for the company and that it all must be turned over when he left, did you?

Do you have any existing apps distributed on the App Store? If not, you probably can start over, as it were, and generate all new certificates, private keys, etc.

Afraid we didnt.
It was all such a rush and to be honest he helped set us up.
We have 12 apps on there at the moment and have been on for some time and only just started getting paid from Apple.The thought of starting again would kill me

Well, things would seem to be pretty bleak unless you can get your ex-lead-developer to capitulate. I'm not sure what your legal position is in this case, but it might be worth looking into. And I don't think Apple can help you with the private-key thing. Even they don't know enough about its creation to allow recovery. This is why they post strict warnings about being careful with it and making sure you keep it in a safe place. You seem to have given your ex-lead the "keys to the kingdom" (almost literally). I'm not sure what other information I can give you to help you gain back the core of your business. Sorry.
