Under preferences and devices tab only show one “my iphone name”. Is there a way to make a separate copy of the back up? It look like iTune overwritten the same file over and over, I have nothing to fall back to if something wrong with the current files.

I am running iTune 8.2.0.23 and Windows XP Pro.

Thanks,

C:\Documents And Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync

In this folder, make a new folder, name it what you want, I'd put the date in also. Open the Backup folder found in MobileSync and copy the string of numbers folder into your newly created folder.
If you just rename the backup folder, the next to you do backup, it will take a long time because it is doing another full backup and creating a new Backup folder.

I don't know if there is an eaiser way, but this is what I do.

Thank you for the help, I will try that. Nowadays HDD space is not an issue any more. I wish iTune have an option for the end users to select between overwrite or a new backup.
