I have the late 2017 rMBP 13inch.

The Apple Rainbow Loading Spinning Wheel only ever really appears when im using Safari. It happens whenever I open Safari and whenever I open a new blank tab in Safari. This makes me hope the issue is limited to Safari and can be remedied somehow. It's rare for the rainbow loading beach ball to show up anywhere else, but always with Safari. Hoping I can fix this somehow.

I have iStat on my MBP, not sure if any of the info in there can show me how to help.

Not really familiar with your machine but one thing I might suggest: download Safari Tech Review and see how it works? I use it on my 2017 MBP and it works fine. If it works it might narrow the issue or imply some setting or extension or such?

Thank you. I just searched for Safari Tech Review but mainly only received results for “Safari Technology Preview”

not sure if that’s what you mean. Either way I’ll search the mac App Store to see if I can find this there.

Not sure its in the App Store....somewhere on the site....you don't have to be a developer to get it but its a matter of finding it....someone here or on the Apple Forums should be able to help (just tried looking but couldn't locate it...do a search here at MR).

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Just downloaded it (thank you so much) and It feels so much snappier; no lag at all.

So im guessing this version of Safari is kinda like a developer preview so it may contain the occasional bug? Cause as of right now im loving it; id say its a bummer my Reading List and iCloud Tabs don't sync....but they do!

I've been using it for some time and no real bugs as of yet....don't remember how I did it but/ or how it happened but all of my bookmarks transferred over. You may want to do a forum search on this....glad to be of help!

If Technology Preview is working great but normal Safari is not, it may be an indicator that Safari preference or cache files may have an issue. If you wanted, you could try wiping out the ~/Library/Safari and ~/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.* and setting up Safari again from scratch.
