I been trying to put a movie on my new sg3 from my mac but I cant figure it out.
Any tips would be great.
THx

Normally you'd just connect it to your Computer and drag and drop it into your GS3's 'Video' folder. Depending on what format it is you might need the VLC app.

The only ways is thru Kies or an over the air app. Android file share sucks and won't work with it, and Doubletwist has been promising a solution for 6 months.

If you want to get files from windows to your GS3... use windows. I have parallels with a win7 virutal machine.

Last time I tried Kies it put the video into the wrong folder.

I got Android File Transfer working with my Note 2 by uninstalling Kies from my Mac.

I tried airdroid and double twist.
The movies just wont go into them.

The fall-back option is to get a MicroSD card - most new-ish Macs have an SD-card slot and the cards are often sold with microSD-to-SD converters - or you can get a USB card reader.

Initialise the card in the phone (to create the correct folders) then put it in your Mac to copy the video to it.

If you're going to be using video and you have the standard 16GB phone, you'll probably want an extra SD card anyway.

How do you get your phones internal/external memory cards to show up on your Mac? Just using Finder?

I use my PC with the phone. Never tried it with the Macbook. I use the Macbook way less than the PC.

Did you ever install the drivers from Samsung? I did that, then when i plug it in to my computer, i set the GS3 to connect as: Media device (MTP).

Now everytime i plug in the phone to my computer it usually opens up and i just click on "open device to view all folders" and it shows the internal card and my microSD card. I choose the MicroSD card and drag and drop the videos in there and it creates a video folder.Or maybe i created a video folder. I dont recall. It was a while ago.

I sold my S3 but I had a custom AOSP ROM installed so it worked well with Android File Transfer on Mac. I also use that for my Nexus 4.
